Terms of service

Terms for using Cohortly

Effective July 17, 2026

These terms apply to merchants that install or use Cohortly Repeat Tracker. The service is operated by the developer identified in the Shopify App Store Business Imprint. Installing or using the app means the merchant accepts these terms.

Service

Cohortly reads approved product, order, and stable customer identifier data from the installed Shopify store and produces aggregate repeat-purchase cohorts, product associations, product paths, and CSV exports. It is a merchant analytics tool. It is not a marketplace, sales channel, payment processor, checkout, fulfillment service, or marketing sender.

Shopify account and permissions

The merchant must have authority to install the app and grant the requested Shopify access scopes. The merchant is responsible for its Shopify account, store data, staff access, and compliance with Shopify's terms. Cohortly depends on Shopify APIs and only analyzes order history made available under the scopes Shopify approves for the app and store.

Analytics limitations

Results are descriptive estimates derived from imported data. “First observed” means the earliest customer order present in that imported history and may not be a lifetime first purchase. Results may be incomplete when earlier order history is unavailable, orders are not associated with a customer identifier, products or orders change, or a sync has not completed. Product associations do not prove causation and results do not guarantee future revenue, retention, or repeat purchases. Merchants remain responsible for business decisions made using reports or exports.

Billing

Cohortly currently offers a USD 5 monthly plan and a USD 49 yearly plan. Current price, currency, billing interval, included features, and plan availability are displayed on Shopify's hosted App Pricing page and billed through Shopify. Cohortly does not collect payment card details or use an external merchant checkout. A merchant may decline a plan or use available plan-management options through Shopify; feature access may depend on the active plan shown there.

Acceptable use

Merchants must not use the service unlawfully, attempt to access another merchant's data, interfere with service security, reverse engineer protected service components, or submit malicious content. The app may be suspended for misuse or a material breach of these terms.

Privacy and data

Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy. The merchant remains responsible for notices and lawful processing obligations that apply to its customers and store. The merchant must not send customer identity data or unredacted exports through ordinary support email.

Availability and changes

The service may be updated, interrupted, or changed to maintain security, compatibility, and functionality. Reasonable efforts are made to operate the service reliably, but uninterrupted or error-free availability is not guaranteed. Material changes to these terms will be reflected by updating the effective date.

Intellectual property

The merchant retains rights in its store data. Cohortly retains rights in the app, documentation, design, and service software. The merchant receives a limited, non-transferable right to use the service for its own Shopify store while the installation and any required plan remain active.

Termination

The merchant may stop using the service by uninstalling the app. Shopify billing and cancellation are handled through Shopify. Data deletion after uninstall and privacy requests is described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without warranties not expressly stated in these terms. Cohortly is not responsible for Shopify outages, unavailable API data, or merchant decisions based on analytics. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
